Deep Tissue Massage

Deep Tissue Massage

A therapeutic massage is any type of massage that helps to relieve pain and alleviate stress
on your muscles. It also works to help specific problems such as tension headaches or injuries like a hamstring strain.

When muscles are stressed, they block oxygen and nutrients, leading to inflammation that builds up toxins in the muscle tissue. Massage helps to loosen the muscle tissue and release these toxic byproducts by increasing blood and oxygen circulation.

A deep tissue massage works by physically breaking down areas of tension to relieve pain
and restore normal movement. It also works to realign deep layers of muscles and connective
tissue.

A good massage therapist will be able to apply the exact level of pressure you need and
apply techniques in the most beneficial way, even if this means a lighter touch Therefore a
massage is suitable for all ages as the treatment is based on your body and case history.

What to Expect

At the Maple Clinic, we offer either a one-hour full body massage or a half hour neck and back. If there is a specific area or injury that needs attention this can be incorporated into either time. When you book into the clinic, a case history will be taken to establish your symptoms taking into consideration your general health and any past medical history. The area, type and intensity of the massage will then be determined.
