Osteopathy

Osteopathy

When you book your consultation with an Osteopath, they will take a thorough case history and look at all aspects on your previous health. This will help them determine all the factors that could contribute to your current symptoms and establish the diagnosis. The treatment approach will then be outlined and agreed by the patient.

Occasionally an osteopath will refer you to get other scans such as x-rays or other investigations if they think your condition is outside their area of expertise. They believe in a hands-on approach to get to the root of your pain using their wide variety of non-invasive manual techniques, and potentially other techniques such as acupuncture, to restore the body back to normal and prevent the problem from reoccurring.

Lifestyle advice on posture, exercise, diet and stress reduction may also be part of your treatment plan.

A variety of different techniques are used within an Osteopathic treatment, therefore, it is
suitable for any ages. Whether you are bringing in a child for treatment or you are an elderly
person an osteopath will be able to find a mode of treatment that will be beneficial for you.
